So Danganronpa V3 came out in 2017. It is more than halfway through 2024 and I am just now getting to it, and this is coming from someone who burned through the first and second games on Something Awful back in 2013 like it was the best thing I had ever seen in my life. I did even play through the first trial in 20...18? ish? If I recall correctly, but never got around to doing any more.

Now, why is that exactly?? Sure, part of it is that I didn't really care about Danganronpa anymore at the time it came out, but more than that, it was entirely Ouma's fault. I am only slightly exaggerating. Since nobody I knew or followed talked about DR anymore, I was pretty much safe from any exposure, but I saw art of the popular characters of course. I knew that for my own safety it was imperative for this purple thing to stay as far away from me as humanly possible.

I was able to keep this creature at bay for seven long years until my beloved friend asked me to play (aka watch) through the third game. Because I love her, I put my own life on the line to do so.

About My S/I

My S/I is the Super High School Level Matchmaker! My friend came up with this super cute title for me and then I designed her from there, hehe...

She prides herself on forging relationships that will stand the test of time...! She has found the perfect matches for celebrities and experts in all sorts of fields. However, she does not only work to bring love to the famous people; anyone can request her services, and she takes all inquiries equally importantly! She believes that everyone on earth has their perfect match, and it's just a matter of setting the course in motion for them to meet.

She spends a lot of her time researching all aspects of human behavior, emotions, and culture to learn more about why people might fall in love with each other, and how to keep relationships going under duress!! She's very emotionally intelligent when it comes to other people... but not herself. She is extremely self-sacrificial and self-conscious, and wants nothing more than to have a boyfriend of her own. She can't take any of her own advice and has no idea how to put herself out there. She is very tall for a girl and she hates when people point this out because it makes her feel even more worried about her looks. She is also very uncomfortable around even slightly inappropriate subject matter, and only wants to think about 'pure' love, with no sexuality behind it.

Lore

Killing games my beloved. No lore will make sense because they have no time to do anything since she would get obliterated in ten seconds but whatever. Just ignore that part!!!

Ouma immediately clocks her as being a weak link and easy to both bully and manipulate. She believes people at face value, so when he lies or acts sweet to catch her off guard, she takes him seriously. He starts off being very nice to her and presenting himself as weak and scared, so she gets overwhelmed and wants to take care of him as much as she can. After a while of this, he starts letting little insults pop up here and there and takes advantage of her kindness, but it's too late for her to stop now, because she thinks he's just acting out of fear from the whole situation they're in.

She's such an open book that it's really easy to upset her, and then either belittle her for reacting that way, or quickly backtrack and apologize for it. She always feels vaguely sad and uncomfortable around Ouma but he lays on affection thickly when she starts getting second thoughts, so she forgives him. He basically tells her that given the situation they're in, she's never going to have an opportunity to fall in love with someone for real, so he's the best she's got, and she should be grateful someone is even willing to put up with her anyway. And she goes :( yeah I guess you're right... but after he breaks her down then he does become nice for real sometimes and she likes him a lot so it's fine!!! Yay!!!!!!!

What I ~~Love~~ Hate About Him

♡ His JP voice actor is Shimono Hiro (who I love very much, I really like his voice) and then I heard his English voice as well in a gameplay clip and I panicked so hard that I closed out of my entire browser
