Backstory

Oh, man, where to start... Tori has put me on an emotional rollercoaster from day one. Pre-day one, even; a year before I even went anywhere near Enstars, my friend and I scrolled through the wiki and rated all of the boys based on looks and personality. I remember my abject horror and dismay about there being a cute, pink, bratty rich boy, and I even said at that point "if I ever get into Enstars, it would be over for me". ...Well, I did get into Enstars, and it was indeed over for me.

I fought it hard for two months - I absolutely, positively, with every fiber of my being, did not want to like him. But if there's two things to know about me, they are as follows: I am not immune to pink haired boys, and if I say that I hate a character, I will fall for them. So you can imagine how well my anti-Tori phase went for me. I mean... (motions to this page). Clearly it was going to happen sooner or later; there was really nothing I could do about it.

About Tori

Tori is an idol in the unit fine, a unit managed by Star Productions. fine is a very popular unit, and all of its members are very talented; because of this, Tori often feels a pressure to live up to his unit's reputation, and gets frustrated when he feels as though he's falling behind the others. He has a tendency to look down harshly on others, but he is working on this!

I will be honest - I never got to play the original Ensemble Stars! game, and I have been sporadic in how I play the second, so some of my characterizations of Tori might be incorrect. I definitely do play up the 'cute, spoiled brat' angle, but I know that a lot of his haughtiness comes from a place of anxiety and insecurity. He's a boy who feels emotions very strongly, and yes, he has a bad habit of treating people as though they're beneath him, but he also has a very good heart. He works very hard for the things he cares about!! I care about him a lot and I want to do my best to cheer him on!

About My S/I

Much like the actual plot of the game, my S/I is a producer! To be more specific, a close friend and I like to make our self-insert scenarios match up with each other's, so my sona and her sona are both producers who split the workload of all of the agencies/units between the two of them. The units I'm in charge of are Ra*bits, Alkaloid, fine, 2wink, Knights, Eden, and MaM; out of those, fine could be considered my 'main' unit, the one I spend the most time working with!

I like to think that she's a hard worker. She may get overwhelmed, but she handles it long enough to run and hide somewhere for a few minutes if she needs to freak out about something. She loves idols a lot (to the point where she's a bit of a fangirl), but she doesn't let that get in the way of her professional business... most of the time.

Lore

Oh boy... Tori is one of the rare characters I ship with that actually does have a slow burn-esque story paired with him. My sona is assigned as a producer for fine, who is already very well established and is no stranger to success. She's in charge of menial tasks, errands, paperwork and the like, but she also oversees practices as well. At first, she tries really hard to get involved with the practices, giving Tori lots of comments and pointers. However, he sees this as her butting into his business for no reason, and he becomes quite hostile to her. She tries to ignore his brusque behavior, but as time goes on he becomes more and more openly snappy and rude to her, so she finally puts her foot down and returns his bad attitude in earnest. There's a period of time where they argue with each other almost every time they interact.

Eventually, the tension grows so strong that she finally snaps at him, demanding to know why he has such a horrible attitude when all she has done is try to help and support him as best as she can. Her meltdown kind of puts things into perspective for him, and he spends some time reflecting on his actions, trying to figure out why he was so unwilling to let her help. He subconciously interpreted most of her actions as coming from a place of pity, and believed that she thought he wasn't capable of keeping up with the others; in actuality, she was trying to give him extra help precisely because she knew he was capable, and that falling behind made him extremely stressed out and frustrated.

With some advice and pushing from Yuzuru, Tori swallows his pride and apologizes to her. She accepts his apology, and things mostly go back to normal... except that Tori sooooort of develops a crush on her after a while of realizing just how much work she does for his best interest. Things turn into very much of a tsundere rom-com at this point, with a lot of complications that could be easily solved if they would communicate with each other, which they absolutely don't.

Somehow - eventually!! - they manage to get on the same page. Once they actually admit that they like each other, they become the most annoying and clingy humans on planet Earth.

♡ At the time of starting this page (Jan 15th, 2024), Tori's birthday was just a few days ago. I decided I would pull for him on his birthday banner and I got his 5-star, as well at the 4-star I was missing, in two ten-pulls. I then proceeded to pull his 4-star from Yuzuru's new banner, and the Wataru 5-star where he's featured in the full artwork. I was unreasonably excited - I forced my friends to watch my stream while I pulled in the gacha - and even typing this out I'm so happy, almost to an embarrassing degree, lol...///
